The driving force behind ABM Globalconsult is Pierre Timmermans (1953). After completing his civil engineering education at the Institute of Technology, he worked for seven years for the Boskalis dredging company. He lived for a few years in Belgium and Denmark and he participated in various European projects for this company.

Pierre subsequently moved to IHC Holland, a world leading builder of dredging equipment, where he executed several projects worldwide. He enjoyed being able to completely immerse himself in the language and culture of each host country and to find solutions for various problems. During this period, he discovered just how important mutual trust is: “People remember if you never betray their trust. This is how I built up a worldwide network that I can always lean back on.” Upon returning to Holland, Pierre became a director of ‘Konijn Baggertechniek’, a contractor that executes extremely specialized dredging projects. In this function, he not only focused on the Dutch market, but also undertook assignments in France, Germany and England.

In 1999, Pierre changed his field of business. In his capacity as manager of a soil remediation contractor, he was responsible for the implementation of new, environmentally-friendly techniques. This certainly entailed a lot of effort, but with patience and persuasion, Pierre was able to convince his clients of the virtues of these techniques. He has been able to build up a longterm relationship with many of his clients.

Pierre speaks Dutch, German, English, Spanish and French fluently and can gets by with Danish. He puts his worldwide network, expertise and experience to good use for his company ABM Globalconsult.

Pierre’s vision and method of working is summerized by the following key words: intermediary, mediator, enterprising, long-term relationship with the customer, trust, and personal contact.

‘Looking for solutions together, passionately managing a team and jointly achieving excellent results: This is what I like about my work.’
